Join Secondbite’s Winter Tax Appeal Through A Tax Deductible Donation
As of this year, about three-quarters of Australians on income support eat less or skip meals to afford the bare necessities, and we predict that this number may increase during this winter.
When essential needs like your next meal are accounted for, people free themselves of a giant burden. This helps them shift their attention from focusing on things required to live, to things that make life worth living.
This creates an unprecedented demand for food relief organisations to fill the gaps, which is why we urgently need your help delivering quality food to people in need from all over Australia.
This winter, join us as we fight against food insecurity by feeding millions of hungry Australians through a tax deductible donation. We have already hit our goal for this year’s Winter Tax Appeal, and we are now going further beyond by aiming to raise $300,000!
For every $1 you donate today, we will be able to provide a warm, hearty, and nutritious meal for up to five people – people like Evie.
Evie’s Story
We met Evie as she regularly volunteers with SecondBite’s partner organisation, ADRA, and she graciously agreed to share her story.
Evie is a strong, resilient, and fiercely independent woman who was recently diagnosed with autism, and has been struggling to make ends meet. With the rising costs of basic essential items and having to miss meals to afford them, Evie is left with no choice but to find support through these tough times.
Thankfully, one of Evie’s fellow volunteers noticed her struggle and connected her through SecondBite. Today, Evie has access to fresh fruits, vegetables, and nutritious meals thanks to our charity fundraising food and financial donations.
This change in her situation allowed her to allocate more towards her essentials such as medications and phone bills.
‘People need to be able to know that there is someone to go to ask for help’, Evie says.
Now, Evie has the help she needs without worrying about food and medication, allowing her to focus on more important things in life. Evie also has plans to transition and go back to school – all of this is possible, thanks to your continued support with SecondBite.
How SecondBite Helps Put Food On The Table
Unfortunately, Evie is just one of the millions of Australians struggling with food insecurity.
Donate Today With SecondBite
We work with food producers, manufacturers, and retailers to rescue quality and nutritious food, and ensure that it reaches the tables of the people who need it most without charge.
In 2023, we prevented 25 million kilograms of completely edible food from going into landfills by redistributing them to around 1,100 of our partners nationwide.
This not only helps feed millions of Aussies across the country, but also contributes to reducing the country’s food waste problem – a win-win solution!
We accept food, funds, and volunteer work. SecondBite has also been endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) since 2005, so any figures over $2 are considered a tax deductible donation.
