Daniel Moorfield
Chief Executive Officer
With an extensive career spanning over 25 years in the food sector and a profound passion for creating positive change in people’s lives, Daniel took the helm of SecondBite in September 2023.
His impressive background includes leadership roles at various food businesses across Australia and Asia, with his most recent position being at McCormick, the world’s leading herb and spice company. In this capacity, he spearheaded growth and transformation, fostering sustainability and profitability.
Beyond the boardroom, Daniel’s commitment to addressing food waste and insecurity is palpable. He has a history of working closely with food charities in India, Thailand, Singapore, and Australia, personally cooking meals for those in need. Now based in Melbourne but with a national reach, Daniel Moorfield is set to explore innovative approaches to food rescue, long-term sustainability, and collaborative efforts to end waste and hunger across Australia. His career transition into this purpose-driven role underscores his dedication to giving back to the community and making a meaningful impact on the pressing issue of food waste in Australia.
Lucy Coward
Chief Operating Officer
Over the course of a 20 plus year career in Procurement, Supply Chain and International Business, Lucy has a proven ability to identify and realise cost savings and efficiencies. Lucy has a keen focus on leading and optimising complex supply chains in FMCG, agriculture and manufacturing in Australia and internationally.
Lucy began her career providing export and international business development advice to food, beverage, agricultural and FMCG companies. She has built a strong technical skillset in procurement, logistics, negotiation and international supply chain management. In this capacity, Lucy has had a transformative impact on a number of large agricultural and manufacturing businesses. Lucy is passionate about implementing change through strong working relationships to drive real improvement and development around COGS and customer service outcomes.
Notably, in September 2023, Lucy achieved a significant career milestone when she was promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer, following her successful nine-month tenure as Acting CEO.
Kevin Shim
Director of Finance
Kevin has extensive experience in finance management in NPOs, having previously worked as Finance Manager at Multiple Sclerosis and at South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network where he successfully managed the rapid growth of the business.
Jo Swift
Director of Philanthropy & Transformation
After several stints as a consultant with us, Jo has finally joined the SecondBite team as a permanent member of staff.
Jo’s extensive history in the for-purpose sector includes youth homelessness, education scholarships, NDIS programs, leadership programs and now food rescue.
Her history also includes several Board positions in the peak body and start up space and membership on several Ministerial Advisory Committees.
Jo is a member of the AICD and Women on Boards.
Emma Watts
Director of Fundraising & Communications
Emma joined SecondBite in July 2022, having held leadership roles within the NPO, government and corporate arenas, heading up fundraising, communications and stakeholder engagement in the conservation, social services, and animal welfare sectors.
Emma is passionate about having a positive impact on the people and animals of the world who need it most and has coupled her professional career with a strong volunteer history, including roles as a wildlife rescuer and Non-Executive Board Director at Animal Aid and The Thin Green Line.
Solly Fahiz
Director of Government Relations & Strategy
Solly brings considerable experience as a skilled management and strategy consultant and nearly a decade working in the highest levels of politics and government.
Before joining the team, reflecting his passion for making meaningful impact, Solly worked as a strategy and management consultant with a particular focus on not-for-profits, charities and governments.
Solly has also served in an Executive Management role in the TAFE sector and as a consultant assisting clients with government and stakeholder relations. His near decade in politics included as Chief of Staff and Adviser to State and Federal Ministers, and as a Media Advisor to a State Premier.
Tegan Barker
National Operations Manager
Tegan provides leadership and strategic direction for the organisation in Queensland.
She has spearheaded projects including ‘The Charity Meal Project’ where SecondBite provided fresh produce weekly and distributed meals to those who have been affected by COVID. They provided 200 meals per week over five weeks to students from Central Queensland University’s in Brisbane.
Tegan said projects like this “provide more than just a meal – they provide support, hope and friendship to those doing it tough.“

Nick Hilliard
National Supply Chain Manager
Nick joined SecondBite in the peak of COVID in 2020, leading our Victorian operations during a period of major change and rapid responses to pandemic challenges. Nick quickly became a seasoned people leader and change maker with nearly 20 years of leadership experience, including working with a not-for-profit organisation in remote Northern Territory and managing inventory and fleet movements in the hire equipment industry.
As of July 2023, Nick has advanced to the role of National Supply Chain Manager. He has played a pivotal role in selecting the right trucks for our fleet, such as Coles Online Trucks and 14 pallet trucks for VIC and QLD. Nick’s expertise in logistics and in-depth knowledge of each state and State Manager dynamics have been instrumental in the success of our food procurement programs.
Outside of work, Nick’s love for the great outdoors drives him to explore new places for trekking and camping adventures.
Lyndon Nilsson
WA State Manager
Lyndon joined SecondBite in 2018 to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships required to grow Western Australian operations.
He has had a key part in the success of collaborations in WA including Northern Valleys Packers who kindly donate seconds produce to reduce food waste.
Lyndon has been dedicated to the food waste cause and has previously worked at Food Rescue Ltd as Operations Manager.
Kingsley Lartey
NSW State Manager
Kingsley’s love for food, people, community, and culture has taken him on a journey from the farm to warehousing, kitchens, and front-of-house service.
He comes to SecondBite with experience in a range of operations and supply chain roles across SMEs and corporate but always with community and culture in mind.
On a personal level, Kingsley is a husband, and father of 2 energetic boys, a soccer enthusiast, and a keen gardener. Their weekends are spent at soccer matches, family gatherings, or attending to the veggie garden, bees, chickens, and rabbits.
Brian Ellis
SA State Manager
Brian Ellis holds a Certificate in Business Management from Deakin University. Brian currently oversees all the operations in South Australian and the Northern Territory as the Operations Manager for these two regions. Brian’s background includes Production & Transport Manager and Operations Manager for QANTAS Airways and GM Holden Area Leader.
