Cavendish Road State High School in Holland Park Queensland have proven yet again that fundraising isn’t always about raising money. For the second year in a row, Cavendish Road State High School has collected over 24,000 cans and jars of food for SecondBite to distribute to those who need it most.
Students collected cans and jars of food such as vegetables, tuna, baked beans and sauces. Cans and jars of foods are great because SecondBite can store, move and distribute them easily without them spoiling. Our food charity partners can also store them easily and use them as needed to supplement fresh produce. This makes food and meal planning easier and more efficient for families and individuals doing it tough.
The students even went one step better this year by placing donation bins at local retailers such as Coles Mount Gravatt Plaza, Greenslopes, Carindale and Coorparoo, so locals could donate too! Congratulations to all the students and staff at Cavendish Road SHS – Official involved in the initiative. Thankyou for your tremendous efforts rallying the community to support SecondBite as well.
