We began our relationship with Empower Australia in mid-June 2020 in response to the overwhelming demand for food relief that came as a result from #COVID19. With the support of Empower Australia, we have been able to rescue 42,456kg of food and re-purpose it to provide 84,912 meals to help address the growing issue of food insecurity that metropolitan Melbourne is currently facing.
To help further support their operations, SecondBite have provided Empower a 40ft reefer to increase their storage capacity for frozen and chilled goods which will be critical in providing further positive health outcomes to those in need.
